*Jan 29 –   Bike Clinic at Boys and Girls Club/ Sutro

*Jan/Feb/March – Help days for bike repair at Boys and Girls Club

 

*Feb 3-5 – Bike Safety Instructor Training ( Nevada Office of Traffic Safety) – sign up on the web at http://www.ots.state.nv.us/bikeped/

 

March 29-30  - Bike and Pedestrian Safety Conference at Lake Tahoe – Certified Bike Safety Instructors are eligible to attend with support from Nevada Office of Traffic Safety, sign up on the web at http://www.ots.state.nv.us/bikeped/ or email Bruce Mackey at bmackey@dps.state.nv.us

 

*April 2 –   Bike Rodeo at Boys and Girls Club

 

►April 16 – North Valleys Safety Fair and Bike Rodeo (North Valleys Kiwanis)

 

April 22 – Organic Wine Tasting and Silent Auction for Environmental Leadership

►April 24 - Earth Day – will have a bike program display and activities for kids if possible – planning team needed to organize this (email Kiwanis_bikes@sbcglobal.net if you want to help)

April 24 – Wildflower Ride at Chico CA

 

►*May 4 or 5 – Bike Safety Week Event (at Cinco de Mayo? Possibly with Miguel Ribera FRC or with Veterans ES, or ?????)  -- will work on details in the near future

 

►*Late May (tentatively 21 or 22?)  – Hungry Valley / Reno Sparks Indian Colony annual safety and fun fair

 

* July 9– Kite Fest in Northwest Reno

* August – Event at Rollan Melton Elementary School with Boys and Girls Club

 

►*September – School Kickoff with Lions Club in Sparks

 

►*October – Harrah’s Auto Museum Trick or Treat (bike station)

 

►* December – Holiday Party (tentatively at Sun Valley Elementary School with their bike club and Boys and Girls Club) with REMSA

 

* - Boys and Girls Club has offered to share in the event

► Kiwanis Bike Program traditions (sort of – we’ve done them more than once)

 

General Event Requests – no dates

·         Helmet Safety followup for kids who receive helmets (what can we do and how?)

·         Fall and Spring City of Reno Clean Sweep Days --- dates to be determined/ will include bike collection at the events

·         UNR Kids U Bike Clinic

·         Reno Housing Authority events for their youth leaders – shall we combine these with Boys and Girls Club events in the same area(s)?
